2004-05 Commanderettes to be honored on Friday

Members of the 2004-05 Washington County girls' basketball team will be recognized at halftime of the Commanderettes' senior night game on Friday night against Burgin.

The '04-05 Comm-anderettes won 18 games on their way to the 5th Region championship and a berth in the Houchens Industries/KHSAA girls' sweet sixteen basketball tournament.

That Washington County team defeated Nelson County 55-45 to advance to the state tournament, where they knocked off Betsy Layne 51-38 in the first round to advance to the quarterfinals, where their season came to an end.
