- The Commander basketball team won a triple overtime thriller 99-95 over Metcalfe County in the National Guard Holiday Classic in LaRue County. Washington County was three points shy of the school record of 102 points scored, set in 1968.

- St. Catharine track coach Blake Jones won the Frostbite 5K in Louisville. Jones defeated a field of more than 1,000 runners, finishing in 15 minutes and 59 seconds, 52 seconds ahead of the closest competitor.
