4-H leaf collection winners announced

Fourth and fifth grade students from across the county recently completed the 4-H Forestry project. 

In this week’s paper you will find the results as well as pictures of the top winners. A big congratulations to all who completed the project this year.

St Dominic Elementary 4th Grade
Champion – Grant Satterly,  Reserve  Champion – Anne Claire Smith, 2nd runner up – Grant Hilton, 3rd runner up – Mary Medley, 4th runner up – Joshua Curtsinger.  Honorable Mentions went to Madeline Borders, Samual Isaacs, William Isaacs. Receiving blue ribbons were Patrick Arnold, Mary Begley, Cameron Bonzo, Mason Boone, Jacob Hood, Mary Hughes, Richard Libby, Abigail Mattingly, Catherine Mulholland and Madelyn Sagrecy.  Elizabeth Carrico received a red ribbon.


5th Grade

Champion – Andrea Clements,  Reserve Champion – Tatum Smith and Most Creative – Devin Hurst. Honorable Mentions went to Paul Haydon, Kathleen Moore, Robert Mudd, Olivia Spalding, Benjamin Taylor, Kendall Tirabasso and Peyton Young.  Receiving blue ribbons were Noah Abell, Rebekah Barnett, Gracie Graves, Elyssa Hodgens, Justus Hood, Allison Mattingly, Mary Riley, Taylor Smith, Tyler Smith, Katherine Taylor, Cameron Willis and Andrew Yates.

Mrs. Metcalf’s 4th Grade
Champion – Jasmin Stacey, Reserve Champion – Kara Greenwell, Honorable Mention - Leah Fowler, Neatest collections and blue ribbons– John Gribbins, Roy Grigsby, and Christopher Perry. Receiving blue ribbons were Mackenzie Bottoms, Benjamin Langford, Nayeli Lemus, Jenya Loughney, Joseph Smith and Cody Spalding.   Receiving red ribbons were Wyatt Byrd, Jonathan Lewis, Juan Quintana, Mya Railey, Jercey Reed, and AdariusWalker.  Receiving white ribbons were Migual Alcontara, Cayleb Coulter, and Lorena Ramos.

Mrs. Abell’s 4th Grade
Champion – Josie Stacy, Reserve champion – Jerry Mann, Honorable Mentions – Kendrick Greenwell, Corey Hamilton and Hannah Willis. Neatest Collection went to Garrett Settles.  Receiving blue ribbons were Jatavian Churchill, Mana Downey, Emma Hamilton, Justis Harley, Tiara Mitchell, Christian Smith, Mary Smith, Nathan Smith, Dylan Thomas and Kailey Thompson. Receiving red ribbons were Brianna Cissell, Emily Coleman, Alejandro Dominquez and Benjamin Romero.  Receiving white ribbons were Mikel Ellery, Jared McElvain and Joseph Yocum.


Mrs. Smith’s 4th Grade
Champion – Hailey Grace, Reserve Champion – Cierra Byrd, 2nd runner up – Christopher Mann, 3rd runner up – Keith Vanover, Honorable mention – Derek Howard. Receiving blue ribbons were Yazmin Barrera, Lance Herald,  Jared Mudd, Kaitlyn Mudd, Seth Thompson and Talon Walker.  Receiving red ribbons were Savannah Brown, Harold Burton, Sabastain Chesser, Justin Durling, Michael Railey and Dashyra Thompson.  Receiving white ribbons were Marlene Garcia, Terriana Hagan, Cruz Lopez, Jase Phillips and Elijah Simpson.

Mrs. Hardin’s 4th Grade
Champion – Olivia Cox, Reserve champion – Anna Hood, Creative – Mary Brak and Catherine Brak.  Blues were received by Madison Baker, Michael Boblitt, Jackson Brown, Haven Cutler, Lauren Graves, James Haydon, Zachary Morris, Noah Settes, Hailey Smith and Jeffery Staten.

Mrs. Mudd’s 4th Grade
Champion – Riley Schrader, Reserve Champion – Maddy Riley, 2nd runner up – Elizabeth Mann, 3rd runner up – Abbigail Scott, 4th runner up – Matthew Cochran.  Honorable Mentions went to Makenzi Burkhead, Lily Chesser, Madison Coulter, Zachary Patrick, Victoria Rosander, Gabrielle Thompson and Hunter Tingle.  Receiving blue ribbons were Kennedy Cochran, Garrett Devine, Cameron Little, John Roberts, Alexia Samudio, and Dillian Waldridge.

Mrs. Burns’ 4th Grade
Champion – Tanner Montgomery, Reserve Champion – Jasmine Ryan, Honorable mention – Ethan Barlow. Blue ribbons went to Rosa Clontz, Juan Delgado, Sabastian Harris, Jakob Loveland, Dylan Mattingly, Brooklyn Maupin, Caleb Miller, Grace Rasnake, Crystal Ryan, Illamay Thomas, Blake Thompson and Gage Carney. Receiving a red ribbon was Jessica Marcum.

Mrs. Pickett’s 5th Grade
Champion – Kaitlyn Drury, Reserve Champion – Arryana Yaste, 2nd  runner up – Matthew Shepherd, Most beautiful – Alissa Jones.  Winning blue ribbons were Christina Haydon, Matthew Sester and Catey Arnold.

Mrs. Yonts’ 5th Grade
Champion – Gabe Allen, Reserve Champion – Maria Perez.  Receiving blue ribbons were Madison Coslow, Dylan Settles, Makayla Baker, Abigail Hawkins and Aleeara Lawson.
