Washington Co. 4-H Young Riders have had a busy two weeks and have accomplished a lot, winning top awards and supporting the community. The club kicked off its marathon activities by participating in the Willisburg Memorial Day weekend event by riding in the parade and providing horse rides.

On the weekend of May 31 and June 1, five club members competed in the District 5 Horse Show at the West Kentucky Expo Center in Bowling Green. All five are now qualified for the State 4-H Horse Show to be held the first week in July at the Kentucky State Fairgrounds in Louisville. The results are listed below.

On Monday, June 2, the club members travelled to the Bullitt County Fairgrounds where they gave horse rides for the Salt River RECC annual meeting. The club members enjoyed spreading the word about the club and the chance to give young people an opportunity to be around horses.

The week continued with club members hosting a Fun Horse Show on Friday, June 6 at Willisburg Community Park. Watch The Springfield Sun for results from the fun show. The club will host the Washington County Fair Horse Show on Sept. 13, and another fun show later this fall. Community members are invited to come and watch the shows.
