The Kentucky State Fair has been so much fun this year, and our 4-H members are doing a fantastic job representing Washington County.  Everyone still has a chance to go to the fair through Aug. 28 and enjoy all of the sights, sounds and smells!  Don’t forget to check out Cloverville and the West Wing.
Washington County 4-H has had numerous class winners and champions at the Kentucky State Fair and I have taken a lot of photos to share with everyone once the fair is over. This week our Washington County youth will be showing in the beef shows, participating in District 5 day at Cloverville  and the 4-H Young Riders will be performing on Saturday in Cloverville.  Congratulations to those who have participated and good luck to those competing this week!
There will be a 4-H Forestry workshop at St. Catharine College on Monday, Aug. 29, 6 p.m.  Participants should meet at the picnic tables between Lourdes Hall and the Motherhouse.  This will be a good time for students completing a leaf collection to meet and get leaves and receive in depth instruction.  If attending you should bring a magazine to place your leaves in and an ink pen to write down notes and identifications.
