9-10 Little League baseball still alive

The 11-12-year-old all-stars were unable to hold on to a 5-1 lead in the first round against Campbellsville on Saturday, surrendering six late runs in a 7-6 defeat. Devin Hurst tied the game at six late in the game with a solo home run, but Campbellsville responded to move on to the next round. Drew Yates also had a solo home run in the loss. WC was eliminated from the tournament with a loss to Russell County on Sunday afternoon.


The 9-10-year-old Washington County Little League all-star team battled Marion County on Monday night, staying alive in the loser's bracket of the regional tournament. They lost to Russell County 8-7 in the first round on Saturday, clawing back from three runs down to take the lead in the sixth inning, before allowing the winning runs to score in the bottom of the frame.
