Beverly Jean Rogers Carey, age 71, of Willisburg, passed away at 9:35 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2012 at Spring View Hospital in Lebanon.
A native of Buffalo, N.Y. she was born on Feb. 3, 1941 to Robert and Beulah Pearl Valentine Rogers.
She was of the Quaker faith, a retired bus driver and was preceded in death by her father, Robert Rogers.
Survivors include her husband, Billy Carey Sr.; a son, Billy Carey Jr., and a daughter, Michelle Bowman, both of Louisville; a grandson, Keith Ellis Carey, of Louisville; her mother, Beulah Simmons, of Collins, N.Y.; a sister, Lois Metzger, and her husband, Robert, of Collins, N.Y.; a half-brother, Kevin Rogers, and his wife, Marjorie, of Oklahoma City and four special friends, Loretta Pierce, Janet Karrer, Beth Boone and Dale Marie Henderson, all of Louisville.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 11 at Carey & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Jonathan W. Carey, associate pastor of the Abundant Life Church of Lebanon, officiating.
Burial was in the Battle Cemetery near Mackville.
Serving as pallbearers were Colin Withrow, Jordan Sparrow, Billy Sparrow, Beau Henderson, James Carey and Jeff Herdt.
Carey & Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
