Burn ban issued for Washington County

A ban on outside burning throughout Washington County was issued this afternoon (June 29) by County Judge-Executive John A. Settles.

"Due to the excessive drought, unusual dryness, and fire hazard conditions, (Settles) does hereby issue a burn ban prohibiting outside / open burning throughout Washington County," a release said. "The ban will be lifted when the hazardous conditions are abated."
