Kentucky Press News Service
Although the most dangerous severe weather is expected this afternoon across much of Kentucky, nasty thunderstorms have already hit parts of the state this morning.
Thunderstorms are now reported in Russell County, Jefferson and Grayson counties. The Grayson County storm is expected to move into Elizabethtown, Bardstown and Lebanon Junction.
The National Weather Service says the greatest danger today is from straightline winds but there is a high likelihood of scattered tornadoes as well.
NOAA's Storm Prediction Center has upgraded Central Kentucky's chance for severe weather today, particularly this afternoon, from moderate to high.
