The Washington County High School Cheerleaders will compete at noon this Saturday in the KAPOS regionals at Central Hardin High School in Elizabethtown.

The girls will be competing against cheer squads from Bardstown, Elizabethtown and Green County for a shot at the state competition.

The Washington County cheerleaders participate in the KAPOS tournament every year and head coach Christy Brown says Elizabethtown will be the team to beat.

“I think E-Town is pretty good this year,” said Brown. “We’ve been practicing a ton, some 5:30 a.m. practices as well as Saturday practices.”

Brown also said that the squad is ready to go to Elizabethtown and do their best.

“The girls are really excited and looking forward to it,” added Brown. “They’ve worked really hard.”

The Kentucky Association of Pep Organization Sponsors was formed 52 years ago to promote and improve the art of cheerleading. For more information, visit www.kapos.org on the Internet.
