Christmas celebrations continue

Bobby and Joyce Ballard of Lancaster hosted the annual Christmas gathering of the descendants of the late Eli and Beatrice Grubbs. The oldest Grubbs family members who attended were Uncle Sam Grubbs of Cincinnati, Aunt Mary Francis and Aunt Mildred Grubbs, ages 90 and 83. Mary Grubbs’ cousins were on hand for the feast. Local cousins who attended were Dennis and Jean Esper, Norma E. Goode and Charles and Alice Clark.
The children at Bethlehem Baptist Church presented “Sing in Peace,” scriptures and songs for worship on Sunday. Children involved were Makenzie Purdom, Victoria Gilbert, Abby May, Isaiah Mattingly, Josiah and Micah Claunch, Collin Sparrow and Kristin Goode.
Joe and Beverly Hays celebrated their seventh anniversary in Georgetown on Saturday.
Celebrating birthdays this week are Anna Mae Coyle, Kevin Purdom, Shawna Gilbert, David Kohen Burns, Roberta Hourigan and Patsy Johnson.
Celebrating anniversaries this week are Isaac and Louella Milburn, Tommy and Gay Peters and Scott and Sharon Purdom.
Christmas is getting closer to us. This year visit an animal shelter and adopt a pet. The animals need a good and happy home. They give so much love and affection. If you are unable to adopt, give and donate food and money. So many shelters need help to keep up the animals and to feed and clean the environment.
