The Washington County Circle of Friends, the annual event to benefit St. Catharine College, will be held Nov. 10 in the Spalding Student and Community Center. On campus spearheading the fundraiser will be Dan Hans, the new Director of Development.
“Everyone is working hard to make it the best Circle of Friends we have ever had,” said Hans. “Hal Goode and Bill Robinson (Chairs of the Circle of Friends along with their wives Mary Lynn and Angela) are great. They have their fingers on the pulse of the community.”
The night will begin with a social hour at 6 p.m. followed by dinner and a short program. This year the guest speaker will be Mitchell Tolle, an author, artist and lay minister.
Donations at the annual Circle of Friends support the Annual Fund of St. Catharine College. That provides the college with vital resources to award student scholarships, recruit quality faculty and staff, maintain and enhance facilities, and equip classrooms with the latest technology.
Hans, however, sees the event as important for other reasons. “Funds we raise through the event are important, but it is also about celebrating the relationship St. Catharine has with the community. This is a wonderful community and the college is in a great position for continued growth.”
