City presented with a balanced budget

The Springfield City Council was presented with the first reading of the budget for the next fiscal year on June 12 at city hall.
The 2012-13 fiscal year begins on July 1.
Estimated revenues and expenditures were $2.1 million, down about $24,000 from last fiscal year’s budget.
That fiscal year’s budget was nearly $88,000 less than the previous year.
