The Commanderettes scored their first district win of the season and their third win overall in pulling an upset victory over visiting Bardstown Friday, 54-49.

WC freshman center Kenya Turner scored 17 and senior point guard Morgan Burton knocked down three three-pointers in a 15-point night for the Commanderettes.

“That was a big district win for us,” said Commanderette head coach Bernard Smalley. “I didn’t sleep a wink Friday night, I was so excited. Bardstown has got a good team, but our kids came out and met the challenge.”
