Street Lights Collection
The Willisburg Lions Club will be collecting for street lights on Thursday, Sept. 29, starting at 5 p.m. They will be collecting door to door.

Sept. 30-Oct. 1-2

Washington Co. Fair

The Washington County Fair will be held Sept. 30, Oct. 1 and 2 at the Washington County Senior Citizens Building. Entries accepted between 2:30 and 6 p.m. on Sept. 30, displayed on Oct. 1 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Entries will need to be picked up between 3-4 p.m. on Oct. 1. Oct. 2 Farm Scapes Display and Doll Contest. Registrations 9:30-11 a.m., judging at noon and on display till 3 p.m. New classes this year include the doll contest, egg, yarn and honey classes. Saturday, Oct. 1

Boone Horseride
The Boone Horseride will be held Saturday, Oct. 1 at 12 noon at the Fred Boone Farm, 5690 New Hope Road, New Hope. Other entertainment will be music and cloggers starting at 2 p.m. Auction starts at 5:30 p.m. Proceeds go to St. Vincent de Paul Church, New Hope.

Loretto Motherhouse Concert
There will be a piano concert at the Loretto Motherhouse at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 1 with Dr. Vernon Cherrix, B.M.

Soul Food

Soul Food Plates will be served at Johnson Chapel Church on Sunday, Oct. 2 at 1 p.m. after church services in the basement.

Montgomery Reunion

The American Red Cross Blood Mobile will be in the Family Life Center at Springfield Baptist Church on Monday, Oct. 10, 2011, from noon until 5 p.m. for its regular visit. A pint of your blood could be a lifesaver for someone, and you won’t miss it a bit. Come, be a donor.

The Benham Family Horseride will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 15 in loving memory of the Benham family: Freddy K. Benham 2007, Nancy E. Lewis Benham 2008 and Fred Benham 2011.
