Couple celebrates 65th anniversary

Mr. and Mrs. Mitchell Burns of Mackville celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on Thanksgiving Day at a family gathering at the home of their son, Bob, in Lexington.
Mitchell Burns and Dotty Shewmaker, high school sweethearts, were married on Thanksgiving Day on Nov. 28, 1946 by Reverend Charlie Devine. In attendance were Mr. and Mrs. Lillard Smith Jr.
Mitchell and Dotty have five children: Larry, Martin, Alice (Gaines), Bob and Terry. They have nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
