Permits already issued for new building

By Geoff Hamill

The property that was home to the Fast Food convenience store has sold. A deed in the Washington County Clerk’s office indicates that the sell was completed on March 23, 2011, and the old store location was bought by Newcomb Oil Company of Bardstown for a total of $425,000 from Haydon Coal and Oil.

In addition, Newcomb Oil also purchased an adjacent parking lot between the old Fast Food site and El Mariachi Mexican restaurant for $60,000 from Earl William Hood and Theresa Hood. Real estate agent Ralph Blandford, who handled the sale, said he understands that Newcomb Oil has plans to tear down the old structure and put in a new building. He added that the company has already acquired permits to build a new building on the site.
