With seven seniors and 18 juniors returning this year, the Washington County High School Commanders football team has a lot of youth. That's why they're working hard during the summer to prepare for this fall.

“We're young,” said Head Coach Mark Perry. “So we've got to get better in a hurry.”

WCHS opens the season on Aug. 29 at Lincoln County.

Last year, the Commanders posted a 4-7 record. Coach Perry is looking for a drastic improvement this season.

“The kids are working hard right now, they're excited,” said Perry. “I think everybody's excited. We're looking forward to a great season.”
