The Commanderette golf team finished up its season this week, hitting the road for the region tournament on Monday.

Junior Amanda Cox ended the season on a good note, shooting a 93 over 18 holes, good enough to earn a medal for an eighth-place finish overall. Eighth-grader Emily Cox also cracked 100 with a score of 99, while fifth-grader Olivia Cox finished the season with a 116.

Washington County concluded the regular season at home on Thursday against Campbellsville, where Amanda Cox again led the way for WC. She posted a 41 over nine holes, followed by her younger sisters, Emily (43), and Olivia (50).

The girls’ final road match of the season was at Nelson County last Wednesday, where Amanda posted a 40, folowed by Emily, 43, and Olivia, 54.

The boys’ team hosted region play at Lincoln Homestead on Tuesday after press time. Results will be published in next week’s issue of The Sun.
