Grand jury indicts four

A Washington County grand jury has returned indictments against four individuals.

• Bobby Joe Barnes, 47, of Croake Station Road in Springfield, was charged with one count each of marijuana cultivation of five or more plants while in possession of a firearm (Class C felony), acquiring property/enterprise from income from drug-related activity (Class D felony) and use/possession of drug paraphernalia (Class D felony).

Bond for Barnes was set at $40,000 cash.

• Jason A. Wright, 22, of Bloomfield Road in Springfield, was charged with one count each of trafficking in a controlled substance in the first degree (Class C felony), use/possession of drug paraphernalia first offense (Class A misdemeanor) and being a persistent felony offender, second degree.

Wright’s bond amount was not available at press time.

• Vanessa G. Shain, 21, of Chaplin Road in Bloomfield, was charged with one count each of assault second degree-police officer (Class C felony), assault fourth degree (Class A misdemeanor) and intoxication in a public place first and second offenses.

Bond for Shain was set at $7,500 cash.

• Jesus Garcia-Gonzalez, 30, of East High Street in Springfield, was charged with one count each of assault in the first degree (Class B felony) and terroristic threatening (Class A misdemeanor).

Bond for Garcia-Gonzalez was set at $50,000 cash.

An indictment indicates that a grand jury found sufficient evidence for a case to go to trial and does not indicate guilt. All of those indicted are innocent until proven guilty.
