Grand jury indicts seven

An indictment indicates that a grand jury found sufficient evidence for a case to go to trial, and does not indicate guilt. All of those indicted are innocent until proven guilty.


James Clay Dorris, 27, of 900 Hatton Creek Road in Stanton, was indicted for third-degree complicity to commit burglary.
According to the indictment, the alleged incident occurred on or about Sept. 12 in Washington County.
Bond was set at 10 percent of $5,000. Dorris is to have no contact with the victim or the co-defendant.
- Michael T. Black, 28, of 5962 Mackville Road in Springfield, was indicted for third-degree burglary and second-degree persistent felony offender.
According to the indictment, the alleged incident occurred on or about Sept. 12 in Washington County.
Bond was set at $15,000 cash, as well as no contact with the victim or with the co-defendant.
- Larry Joe Hardin, 46, of 475 Love Lane in Taylorsville, was indicted for kidnapping, second-degree assault (domestic violence) and third-degree terroristic threatening.
The alleged incident occurred on or about Sept. 14 in Washington County.
Bond was set at $25,000 cash and Hardin is to have no contact with the victim.
- Ja Vonta Desquan Spalding, 30, of 319 West High Street in Springfield, was indicted for receiving stolen property under $10,000 and first-degree persistent felony offender.
The alleged incident occurred on or about Sept. 18 in Washington County.
According to the indictment, Spalding “received, retained, or disposed of movable property of another (four-wheeler) knowing it had been stolen or having reason to believe it had been stolen.”
Bond was set at 10 percent of $10,000.
- Robert Blake, 49, of 916 Booker Road in Springfield, was indicted for 10 counts of theft by deception, including cold checks for under $10,000.
According to the indictment, the alleged incidents occurred between June 13, 2011 and June 16, 2012 in Washington County.
Bond was set at 10 percent of $10,000.
- Danny F. Keith, 52, of 36 Colvin Lane in Willisburg, was indicted for DUI 4th (aggravator), driving DUI on a suspended license (second or subsequent in five years, aggravator), first-degree failure of non-owner operator to maintain required insurance, possession of an alcohol beverage container in a motor vehicle and first-degree persistent felony offender.
The alleged incident occurred on or about Sept. 28 in Washington County.
Bond was set at $15,000 cash, with conditions set as no driving and no alcohol.
- Joseph Steven Wohner, 33, 648 Scott Lane in Willisburg, was indicted for first-degree wanton endangerment, fourth-degree assault (domestic violence minor injury), third-degree terroristic threatening and second-degree persistent felony offender.
According to the indictment, the alleged incident occurred on or about Aug. 13 in Washington County.
Bond was set at $6,000 cash, with no contact with the victim.
