Are you having trouble shopping for someone on your Christmas list? Pick up that one-of-a-kind gift this weekend during the annual Lions/Rotary Auction on WLSK 100.9 MIKE FM.

“We've got a lot of great items this year,” said Rotary member Hal B. Goode. “We still have a lot of stuff coming in.”

Some of the items up for grabs this year include Cincinnati Reds and Louisville Bats tickets, $500 scholarships to St. Catharine College, a rocking chair, Louisville ballet tickets, barbeque grill, John Deere tool box, gift certificates to local merchants, a lifetime subscription to The Springfield Sun and even free commission on the sale of five head of livestock at Washington County livestock center. Chances are, there's something for everyone during this event.

The broadcast portion of the auction will take place at Simms and Montgomery Insurance and Real Estate on West Main Street. Winners can pick up their items at the Springfield Opera House.

All money raised by the auction will be divided between the Springfield Lions and Rotary clubs, and will fund community projects and scholarships.

A preview of some of the items is available online by visiting http://www.bluespringsdesign.com/rotary/rotary_lion_auction.html.

The live radio auction starts at 1 p.m. on Sunday and will last until all items are sold. Tune in to 100.9 MIKE FM and pick up a holiday gift for that special person on your shopping list while helping support these local organizations.
