John Davis “Johnny” Benedict, 68, Lebanon, passed away Thursday, June 21, 2012, at his residence.
He was born on Jan. 16, 1944 in Washington County, and was a former employee of American Greetings in Bardstown.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George Edward and Julia Corine Rice Benedict.
Survivors include his wife, Dianne Coyle Benedict of Lebanon; two sons, Edd Benedict and Corey (Beth) Benedict, both of Lebanon; a grandson, Braxton Benedict; and two sisters, Rosemary (Bernard) Smith and Cathy (Billy) Keene, both of Louisville.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 23, at Bosley Funeral Home, Lebanon, with burial in St. Augustine Catholic Church Cemetery. Deacon Joe Dant officiated.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Hospice of Central Kentucky.
Active pallbearers were Joe Mattingly, Doug Hamilton, Kenny Blandford, Johnny Taylor, Eugene Mattingly and Michael Mabry.
Honorary pallbearers were Earl Bugg, John H. Wathen, and Steven Powers.
Bosley Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
