The St. Catharine College Washington County Circle of Friends Dinner will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 4, at the Spalding Student and Community Center on the St. Catharine College Campus.
This year’s guest speaker is Larry Hayes, secretary of the Kentucky Cabinet for Economic Development. A 1972 graduate of St. Catharine College, Hayes has held several posts in state government, including that of state budget director and secretary of the executive cabinet. His current position as secretary of the Cabinet for Economic Development includes responsibility for the development and administration of executive policies designed to promote and support economic development within the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
The Washington County Circle of Friends is an annual event that raises funds to benefit the students of St. Catharine College. Chairpersons for this year’s dinner are Lisa Haydon and Nell Haydon, each of whom has a long history with St. Catharine College. Both attended the academy and the college, and have been actively involved ever since.
“We are honored to chair the 2011 Circle of Friends,” said Lisa Haydon. “Having a four-year college in Washington County is such an asset. We know that this year’s Circle of Friends will reflect the outstanding support the citizens of this area have always shown for St. Catharine.”
The night will begin with a social hour at 6 p.m. followed by dinner at 7 p.m. Donations to the Circle of Friends support St. Catharine College’s Annual Fund. All gifts received will provide the college with vital resources to award student scholarships, recruit quality faculty and staff, maintain and enhance facilities, and equip classrooms with the latest technology.
