If you watched the Cincinnati Reds game against the Houston Astros on Sept. 23, chances are you saw the first time Major League Baseball’s new instant replay feature has been used during a Reds game. Cincinnati had a 2-1 lead in the top of the seventh inning, and with a runner on first, Reds first baseman Joey Votto hit a two-out fly ball off the yellow line atop the fence in right field that bounced back into play. The hit was ruled a single for Votto and the other runner advanced to third base.
