Dear Editor,

On the afternoon of Monday, Oct. 3, 2011, a 911 call was made to the Washington County Ambulance Service to respond to a man in critical condition in the Mooresville/Maud area of Washington County. When the crew arrived at the scene, they were asked by the spouse to please take the patient to Flaget Hospital in Bardstown. At that time, the EMS driver responded that she didn’t know much about Bardstown and did not know how to drive to Flaget Hospital. She told the spouse that if they wanted to transport the patient to Flaget, that the spouse would have to drive ahead of the ambulance and direct them to Flaget Hospital.
If those EMTs did not know how to drive to Bardstown, then did they know how to drive to: Ephraim McDowell in Danville, Taylor County in Campbellsville, Hardin Memorial in Elizabethtown, all the hospitals in Louisville, all the hospitals in Lexington?
This concerns me.
