After a successful year of shows, the Kentucky Walking Horse Association High Points were presented at the group’s annual awards banquet on Jan. 15 in Lexington. Some local horsemen and owners were honored as part of the ceremony.
Rolling Acres Farms and Stables, owned by Bob and Vickie Stannard of Springfield, earned eight awards in five categories. In the Two-year-old Stallion category, He’s Puttn On The Ritz took fourth place, while Walk Time Charlie placed third.
Pusher’s Ritz Ride took third place in the Three-year-old Stallion class, and Serving Jose placed second in the Two-year-old Mare and Gelding category. In the Three-year-old Park Performance class, Trigger’s Pretty Boy earned the top prize, while Risky Business followed in second place.
Finally, in the Plantation class, Coyote Quick walked away with two awards - third place in the Four-year-old and under class, while taking first in the Two-year-old Plantation class. In the Light Shod class, Joe Peters and his horse Pusher’s Taco earned third place.
These local horses and horsemen earned the points by competing in KWHA shows throughout the state.
