Washington Countians spent more than $1 million on Kentucky Lottery tickets last year. While there were some winners and some losers when it came to lottery prizes, there were hundreds of local winners in the form of college scholarships and grants. A total of $846,260 in lottery proceeds was given to Washington County students, with 503 total awards being given, according to according to figures released by the Kentucky Higher Education Assistance Authority (KHEAA).
