Special to the Sun
An exciting sporting event for men is beginning in Springfield. It is an opportunity for men to get together and play some basketball, as well as a chance for men to be strengthened as they are together in a social, respectful and competitive environment. The Real Life Basketball League is for any male 18 years and older.
In an effort to create balanced competition and good sportsmanship, teams will be selected via mock draft, based upon age, height, weight and experience. A minimum of five and a maximum of six teams with eight to 10 players per team will be selected. Games are scheduled for Friday evenings from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Registration will be Friday, Mar. 13 and Friday, Mar. 20 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. There is an individual $20 league fee which is due at the time of registration. All registered players should attend the informational meeting held Mar. 27 at 7 p.m. During this time players will receive a team roster, schedule, shirt and other pertinent information. If you register and are unavailable to attend this meeting, you must contact the league director at (859) 583-1364.
Games and other meetings will be hosted at the River of Life Community Church, 1255 Hwy. 555 in Springfield, unless otherwise indicated. Regular season games will begin Apr. 3, 2009.
Please call immediately and sign-up in order to secure a spot, as participation is on first-come basis.
