A 20-year-old Springfield man remained in serious – but stable – condition at University Hospital in Louisville on Monday, after he apparently lost control of his 1984 Chevy pick-up Friday afternoon and struck a ditch on Bloomfield Road, just five miles north of Springfield.
Washington County EMS initially transported James T. Spalding to Spring View Hospital in Lebanon. He was later transferred to Louisville for treatment.
Spalding was not wearing his seatbelt, according to reports from the Kentucky State Police. It’s believed alcohol was a factor, the report said.
