Medication stolen from city residence

Springfield City Police were dispatched to a home on the 600 block of North Doctor Street on Dec. 2 around 11 a.m. in regards to theft.

According to the police report, a resident reported that his wife’s medication had been stolen from their home the previous day. The incident allegedly occurred around 2 p.m. on Dec. 1.
No information regarding an arrest in the case was available in the report.

- The Washington County Sheriff’s Department recently reported activity for November.
The department worked 12 accidents, opened three new cases, filed 13 incident reports, served 35 e-warrants or e-summons and served 74 civil summons or subpoenas.
Other activity includes 20 unlocks or assistance with funeral traffic, three traffic stops, 18 attempts on warrant or civil paper service and 120 calls for service received.
- Springfield Police Chief Jim Smith said on Monday at the city council meeting that the department would be collecting donations on Thursday evening at the main intersection in Springfield to buy gifts for a family this Christmas.
Smith said officers will be at the intersection with lights on from around 4 p.m. until dark on Thursday.
- Smith also wanted to let motorists know that the department would be conducting traffic safety checkpoints in the near future.
Officers will be checking for seat beat usage, sober drivers and routine safety procedures.
