As Washington and neighboring counties are going through a special election, some local races are also drawing more interest as some new names are added to the mix.
Previously, the only candidates to file were incumbents, but that has now changed as two local officials have some competition.
Washington County Sheriff Tommy Bartley, a Democrat, filed for re-election, and he now has two opponents.
Alan Corbett, a Democrat, and Jim Crouch, a Republican, have filed to run against Bartley.
