Mt. Freedom Baptist Church, 1088 Cardwell Road., will host a revival Friday and Saturday. Aug. 22-24 at 7 p.m., and Sunday 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. There will be special music each day. Saturday, Aug. 23

Gospel sing

There will be a gospel sing at Cumbo’s Old Gospel Barn in Cox’s Creek at 7:30 p.m. on Aug. 23. Rivers Edge Bluegrass Family Band and Cumbo’s will offer the music. There is no admission charge.

Sunday, Aug. 24

Auditions for Central KY Community Theatre production of “It’s a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play”, will be held on Sunday, Aug. 24, 3-6 p.m. in the Opera House, directed by returning guest director David Dunaway.  Cast consists of four men and three women to each play several characters of different ages. You should be strong in characterization. This show also features old-time radio sound effects and commercials. For more information, call 859-336-5412, ext 4.

Haydon Reunion
The Haydon family reunion will be held Aug. 24 at the Fredericktown Park. Lunch will be served around 12:45.

Community Meal
Springfield United Methodist Church will be hosting a free community meal at the Wesley Center located at 301 East Main St. in Springfield at 5:30 p.m.  This meal is for anyone looking to have a wholesome hot meal with old and new friends as well as providing a greater connection to our neighborhood, our town, and our Washington County Community.

Town Hall
Congressman Brett Guthrie (KY-02) will host a town hall in Washington County on Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2014, at 4:30 p.m. at St. Catharine College’s Hamilton Building located at 2735 Bardstown Road. The town hall will be open to both the general public and the media.

Sunday, Aug. 31

The annual Warner-Wohner family reunion will be held Sunday, Aug. 31 at the Lincoln Homestead State Park clubhouse. Each family is asked to bring food, drinks and utensils for the potluck meal that will be served at noon.

The annual Stumph reunion will be held on Aug. 31 at the Mackville Community Center. Basket lunch will be served at approximately 12:30 p.m.  Please bring an item for the auction.  Proceeds from the auction will be used for upkeep of the Hall Cemetery and expenses for the reunion.  Hope to see you there.

Sept. 5, 12, 19

Cradle School

The Washington County and North Washington FRYSCs will be hosting Cradle School on September 5, 12 and 19 from 10 – 11:30 a.m. in the childcare room behind the Washington County High School, Lincoln Park Road location.  Cradle School is a program for children ages 2 and 3 years old and their parents.  Participants will experience educational activities including lessons on language, science, social skills, music, story time, center activities, outdoor play and snack time.  Educational door prizes will be awarded each week.  Please call Barbara Pettus 481-8489 or 336-5490 or Wendy Chesser at 375-4038 to register.

Sept. 12 and 13

Mackville Harvest Homecoming Festival expands to two days this year. It kicks off at 5 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 12 with food vendors, games, music and more. On Saturday, Sept. 13 they kick off the day with breakfast followed by a 5k, and more games and music. There are several new events added this year.
