WCHS SBDM nominations
The WCHS SBDM Council will be taking nominations for a SBDM Parent Representative. Please contact Joey Spalding at 481-1585 or Paul Terrell at 336-5475 if you are interested. Nominations will be accepted until 3 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 16, 2011.

Wednesday, Sept. 14
Water and Sewer Commission
The Springfield Water and Sewer Commission will have their regular monthly meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 14 at the water office. The meeting will begin at 5 p.m.
The Nelons in Concert

Thursday, Sept. 15
Airport Board Meeting
The Marion-Washington County Airport Board Monthly Meeting will be held Thursday, Sept. 15 at 6 p.m. at the Airport Terminal, 650 Airport Lane.

Friday, Sept. 16
Special Fish Fry
The Springfield Knights of Columbus, Council  4270, will hold a Special Fish Fry as a fund raiser for the Mentally Challenged of Washington County. Proceeds will go to the Washington County Industries Program. The event is from 4:30-7:30 p.m., Friday, Sept. 16, at the K of C Council Hall, 2013 Bardstown Rd, Springfield.

ECTC Constitution Day

On Friday, Sept. 16, Elizabethtown Community and Technical College will celebrate Constitution Day with a talk by Colonel Robert J. Cotell, Staff Judge Advocate, US Army Accessions Command and Fort Knox. He will discuss “The Constitution and Military Justice” at 5 p.m. in room 212 of the Regional Postsecondary Center on ECTC’s main campus. The event is free and open to the public.  

Saturday, Sept. 17
WC Fair Horse Show
The Washington County Fair Horse Show will be held at the Willisburg Community Park on Saturday, Sept. 17 beginning at 4 p.m. Some of the classes offered are Western Pleasure, 4-H classes and Open Plantation Pleasure, plus much more! Haydon Reunion
The descendants of Murray and Nanny Bell Haydon will hold their annual reunion Sunday, Sept. 18 at Fredericktown Park. Lunch at 12:30 p.m.

Brush Grove Baptist Church Homecoming
Brush Grove Baptist Church will be having their homecoming, Sunday, Sept. 18. Service will be at 11 a.m. followed by a meal at noon. Special music will be at 1:30 p.m. The Trinity Gospel Aires will be the music for the afternoon. Everyone is invited.

Hahn-White Reunion

The annual Hahn-White Reunion will be held Sunday, Sept. 18, 2011 in the fellowship hall of The First Cedar Creek Baptist Church, 754 Bellwood Road, Bardstown. The reunion will begin with a potluck meal at 1 p.m.

The Washington County Elementary School Site Based Decision Making council meeting will be held at 4:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 19 in the Media Center.

Tuesday, Sept. 20
Planning Commission
The Planning Commission will meet in regular session on Tuesday, Sept. 20 at 5:30 p.m. for the final plat approval as submitted by Wesley Smith for property located at Rosary Heights. Immediately following the Planning Commission meeting, there will be a one hour training session to meet the HB 55 training requirements.

St. Catharine Academy
The last graduating class of St. Catharine Academy (Class of 1971) is having its 40th class reunion at Mordecai’s Restaurant in Springfield on Saturday, Sept. 24, at 7 p.m. All St. Catharine alumni and friends, particularly the classes of ’68 to ’71 and the class of ’72 (had the school remained open) are invited to attend. Brush Grove Revival
Brush Grove Baptist will be in revival beginning Sunday morning, Sept. 25 and will run through Friday night, Sept. 30. Bro. Greg Haynes of Woodlawn Baptist Church will be the Evangelist for the week. Services will be held at 7 p.m. nightly. All are invited to attend.

Washington Co. Fair
The Washington County Fair will be held Sept. 30, Oct. 1 and 2 at the Washington County Senior Citizens Building. Entries accepted between 2:30 and 6 p.m. on Sept. 30, displayed on Oct. 1 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Entries will need to be picked up between 3-4 p.m. on Oct. 1. Oct. 2 Farm Scapes Display and Doll Contest. Registrations 9:30-11 a.m., judging at noon and on display till 3 p.m. New classes this year include the doll contest, egg, yarn and honey classes. Holy Trinity Turkey Supper
