Airport Board Meeting
The Marion-Washington County Airport Board monthly meeting will be held Thursday, Feb. 9 at 6:30 p.m. at the Airport Terminal, 650 Airport Lane.

Friday, Feb. 10

Loretto Motherhouse Concert
There will be a concert at the Loretto Motherhouse on Friday, Feb. 10, 7 p.m. with David Taustine, piano. Free and open to the public.

Saturday, Feb. 11

Benefit Meal/Auction
There will be a benefit meal/auction for Janet Sparrow on Saturday, Feb. 11, from 3-7 p.m. at the Senior Citizens Center. To For donations call Jenny 805-0668 or Aline 284-0133. All proceeds will go for expenses incurred during illness.

CPR Class
The Red Cross will be having a CPR class for the Lay Responder at the Nelson County Library on Saturday, Feb. 11 at 9 a.m.
This class will train you to recognize and care for a variety of first aid emergencies.
You will be instructed in CPR and care for breathing and cardiac emergencies in adults, children and infants.
This class features interactive video demonstrations along with hands-on training to teach you lifesaving skills.

Springfield Christian Church
Springfield Christian Church will be hosting the Kentucky Duo on Sunday, Feb. 12 at 6 p.m.
Monday, Feb. 13

WC Spelling Bee

The Washington County Spelling Bee, associated with the Kentucky Derby Festival Spelling Bee, will be held at the Washington County High School library on Monday, Feb. 13, beginning at 6 p.m.
All school-level winners in grades 4-8 from Washington County Elementary, Washington County Middle School, North Washington Elementary and St. Dominic will be invited to participate.
Blood Drive
The American Red Cross will hold its next regular blood drive at the Activity Center of Springfield Baptist Church on Monday, Feb. 13, from 12 noon, until 5 p.m.
Your donation of a pint of blood could be a gift of life for someone. The regular donors are appreciated very much, but new donors are welcome and encouraged to give as well.
The Washington County Elementary School Site Based Decision Making meeting will be held at 4:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 13 in the Media Center.

Wednesday, Feb. 15

Parkinson’s Support Group-Bardstown
On Feb 15, Parkinson’s Support Group will meet at the Nelson County Public Library Community Room at 1 p.m. Suzanne Reasbeck will be explaining “Bardstown at Home.” Bardstown at Home provides services to members, 55 and over, in an effort to help individuals maintain their independence and live at home. Meaningful activities and services are provided by volunteers. Meetings are always the third Wednesday of the month. Call Jane Swarts at 502-350-4458 with questions or suggestions.

Loretto Motherhouse Concert

There will be a concert at the Loretto Motherhouse on Wednesday, Feb. 15 at 7 p.m. with Mina An, piano. Free and open to the public.

WCES Kindergarten Registration
Kindergarten registration for Washington County Elementary School for 2012-13 school year will be held Friday, Feb. 17 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the school commons.

Saturday, March 18

Rotary Club pancake breakfast
This year’s Rotary Club Pancake breakfast will be February 18th at Mordecai’s in the back room, from 7 a.m. until noon. Tickets are available for $5 for adults and $3 for  kids, and will be available from any Rotary Club member or at the door.
This event provides the majority of the funds used to provide scholarships to college students.This year’s winners were Don Flowers, who is attending Bellarmine, Tammy Osbourne, and Katherine Boone, who is attending St. Catharine.

Springfield Nursing & Rehab
Come celebrate a deficiency free survey at the Springfield Nursing & Rehab Center Thursday, Feb. 23, from 2-4 p.m.
Enter to win a gift card and other door prizes. Refreshments will be served.

Sunday, Feb. 26

Relay for Life Fundraiser
Karen’s Crusaders will hold its second annual Concert for Hope on Sunday, Feb. 26 at 2 p.m. at the Opera House.
The concert will feature local talent and is being organized by Mary Kutter.
Watch for details of performers and ticket sales in the coming weeks. All proceeds from the concert will benefit the America Cancer Society.

My New Kentucky Home Habitat for Humanity “Tasting Bash” will be held on Thursday, March 15, 2012, from 5:30-7 p.m. at the Great Hall at My Old Kentucky Home State Park.
