Bethlehem Baptist 

yard sale

Bethlehem Baptist Church is holding a yard sale on June 1-2 at 1048 Jimtown Road from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. each day. Proceeds from the yard sale will benefit the Bethlehem Baptist Church youth mission trip.

 

Saturday, June 2

 SAT Testing

The June 2, 2012 SAT, formerly scheduled to be held at Marion County High School, will be held at the Marion County Technology Center. Please report to the Marion County ATC by 7:45.

 

Cornish Reunion

Cornishes of Central Kentucky Reunion will be held Saturday, June 2 at noon. at the Cornishville Fire Station and Community Center. Bring a picnic lunch and soft drink and join us. Genealogy Workshop

The DAR Chapters of the Frankfort area are having a genealogy workshop on Saturday, June 2, to be held at the Kentucky History Center, 100 W. Broadway, Frankfort. Genealogists from the chapters will be available from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and from 1 p..m to 3 p.m. (lunch on your own) to help with tracing your genealogy and/or filling out applications for admission to DAR or other lineage societies. This is open to the public. Please bring a laptop, if you have one, and a flash drive.

Family Reunion

The Newton-Greenwell Family Reunion, held every two years, is comingSunday, June 3 at Holy Rosary Community Hall, Manton. It will beginabout 10 a.m. and a pot luck meal will be served about noon.

All relatives are urged to attend.

“Son of Fun” VBS

Macvkville Christian Church Vacation Bible School will be held from 6-8 p.m. from June 3-7. Come join the fun on Savior Island as we splash into God’s word.

ACT Testing

Boone’s Horse Ride Benefit

Boone’s Horse Ride and Auction will be held Saturday, June 9 to cover medical expenses for Bobby Mattingly. The ride leaves at 11 a.m. at Fred Boone’s, 5690 New Hope Road, New Haven with a live auction at 5:30 p.m. For ride information call Fred Boone (502) 331-8397.  

 

GED Test

Monday, June 11

Red Cross Blood Mobile

The regular visit of the American Red Cross Blood Mobile will be at the Springfield Baptist Church on Monday, June 11, from 12 noon until 5 p.m. Summer is traditionally a time when blood supplies are lowest, but the most needed. This visit will give us the opportunity to do our part to build up the blood supply before the summer need becomes too great.

 Volleyball Clinic

Washington County Commanderette Volleyball Clinic will be held June 11-13 from 9-11:30 a.m. in the Middle School Gym. Any girl in grades 3-8 can participate. Please contact Anne Mudd at 336-5475 or 481-4445.

Free Health Fair

There will be a free Health Fair for stroke risk fasting screening, adults age 18 and older, June 13, 8 a.m. to noon. Must fast 12 hours prior to test. For an appointment call (859) 481-3005. Walk-ins welcome.

Community-wide 

Survey 

The Washington County Heartland Youth Coalition in conjunction with REACH of Louisville will be conducting a community-wide survey of adults to help us gain a better picture of the beliefs surrounding alcohol use in Washington County. Surveys will be going out to 700 random homes the week of May 28. Please fill out the survey and return in the self-addressed envelope by June 15. There will be a card inside and if you return that card to any location listed, you will be entered for a chance to win either a $100 Wal-Mart gift card or one of three Kindle E-Book Readers. Drop off locations are: Springfield State Bank (Springfield, Willisburg, Mackville), WC Extension Office or WC Community Action.
