Leadership Washington County
Washington County Extension is taking applications for this year’s Leadership Washington County Class. If interested please call 336-7741

St. Dominic School
All sixth-grade students must have a completed physical and an updated immunization certificate for the 2012-2013 school year.
All new students (students for the first time entering St. Dominic School) must have a physical, eye exam and a copy of their immunization certificate either mailed or brought to the school.
This information is required by the Archdioceses of Louisville.

August 2,3 and 6
WCHS Registration
Washington County High School 2012-13 registration will be held on the following dates in the high school gym.
Seniors – Thursday, Aug. 2 from 9 a.m. – noon
Juniors – Thursday, Aug. 2 from 1-4 p.m.
Sophomores – Friday, Aug. 3 from 9 a.m. – noon
Freshmen – Friday, Aug. 3 from 1-4 p.m.
Please be prepared to complete registration forms, pay school, college and AP fees and take school pictures following school dress code at this time.
Freshman open house will be Monday, Aug. 6 from 6-7:30 p.m. in the high school gym.

Holy Rosary
Homecoming

The Holy Rosary Church annual homecoming picnic is this Saturday, Aug. 4 from 4-12 p.m.
Dinner served from 4-8:30 p.m.
Dinner consists of country ham, fried chicken or mutton, green beans, corn pudding, potato salad, cucumbers, tomatoes and pies.
There will be many booths and raffles.
Mass is at 5 p.m.

Patriot Quartet
The Patriot Quartet will be performing at the Mackville Community Center on Saturday, Aug. 4.
The doors will open at 6:30 p.m. and music begins at 7:30 p.m.
Concessions will be available, including homemade desserts.
Come enjoy an evening of gospel music and good food.

Sunday, Aug. 5
Back-to-school bash
A back-to-school bash will be held from 4-6 p.m. at Cornerstone Christian Church, 805 Bardstown Road, Suite 17 (next to Save-A-Lot).
Backpacks filled with free school supplies will be given to the first 200 children in attendance in grades K-5.
Lots of games, free popcorn and Kool-Aid.
A member of WC FRYSC Dept. will be on hand helping with school uniforms.

Monday, Aug. 6
Blood Drive
The next regular visit of the American Red Cross Blood Mobile will be from noon until 5 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 6, at the Springfield Baptist Church Activity Center.
Please note, this is the first Monday of August instead of the second Monday, but it still allows all regular donors to be within the 56-day window of eligibility for giving blood.
 
Saturday, August 11
Carpenter Reunion
The W.B. Carpenter Sr. reunion will be held Saturday, Aug. 11 at 5 p.m. at Anderson Dean Park, Harrodsburg.

Mackville Hall of Fame
The following people will be inducted into the Mackville Hall of Fame on Saturday, Aug. 11 at the Mackville Community Center: Pauline Votaw Elder, Patsy Russell Lester, Lettie Simpson Royalty, Bobby Lee Russell and Billy Sparks Thompson.

Milburn Reunion
The family of the late William and Sudie Kimberlin Milburn will hold their family reunion on Sunday, Aug. 12 at Idle Hour Park, Springfield at noon. A potluck dinner will be served at 1 p.m.
Katherine Lowe, the oldest family member, will be 99 years old in December.
Let’s help her celebrate early by bringing her birthday cards.

Pile-Simpson reunion
The annual Pile-Simpson reunion will be held on Sunday, Aug. 12 at the picnic pavilion at My Old Kentucky Home State Park.
Lunch will be served at 1 p.m.
Those attending should bring a covered dish.
Items such as forks, spoons, knives, napkins, cups, etc. will be provided.
