Parkinson’s Support Center
Jason Starnes and Janet Greene from the Parkinson’s Support Center of Kentuckiana will be at the Oct. 17 meeting today to answer questions and discuss all that the PSCKY has to offer. The meetings are open to all touched by Parkinson’s including patients, family and friends. Meetings are the third Wednesday of the month at 1 p.m. in the Nelson County Public Library Community Room. Powder Puff Game
The annual Washington County High School Powder Puff game will be Thursday, Oct. 18 starting at 6:30 p.m. Senior and freshmen girls will play football against sophomore and junior girls. The high school guys from the football team will be cheerleaders! Concessions available. Proceeds from both games will go to the Washington County High School Library Media Center. Come join us for a night of exciting fun and laughter. Rain cancels event.
Friday, Oct. 19
WC Band Chili Supper
The annual Washington County Band chili supper will be held on Friday, Oct. 19 from 5-7:15 p.m. at the high school cafeteria. It includes the famous high school chili, sandwich, dessert and a drink. Carryouts are available. Tickets are on sale from any band member.
Hosparus Needs Volunteers
Hosparus needs volunteers in Marion and Washington counties to provide patient/family support and will offer a free training, 9 a.m.–5 p.m., Friday, Oct. 19 (lunch provided) in the conference room at the Opera House, 124 West Main St., Springfield, Ky. There will be no drivers license tests given on Friday, Oct. 19.
Anchor of Hope Revival
There will be a revival at the Anchor of Hope Church, 10 miles north of Springfield on Highway 555, with Bobby Carnley at 7 p.m. on Oct. 19-22.
Saturday, Oct. 20
Cornerstone Christian Church invites all to the Pumpkin Patch, located at the new property on the bypass between Bloomfield Road and St. Catharine College from 2-4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 20. You can build a scarecrow, carve a pumpkin, paint, and there will be a hot dog and marshmallow bonfire. There will also be a maze and an inflatable.
Holy Rosary Fall Festival
Holy Rosary Church in Springfield will hold its annual fall festival on Saturday, Oct. 20 from 2-8 p.m. Featured menu is chicken, fish or mutton served with soup beans, cornbread and cole slaw. Sandwiches also available. There will be booths for your enjoyment. Call 336-9140 for more information.
Ham Supper and Auction
Emulation Lodge #688 will have its annual ham supper and auction at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 20. Everyone is welcome.
On Oct. 20 at 6:30 p.m. New Beginnings Community Church in Springfield will be having a youth rally featuring Steadfast and Daniel Cook from Elkhorn Baptist Church in Campbellsville. Everyone is invited.
Chili Supper and Fall Festival
Holy Rosary Church Manton chili supper and fall festival will be held Saturday, Oct. 20. Dinner will be served from 4-8 p.m. Mass at 4 p.m. Need not to be present for drawings. Proceeds will benefit the church.
On Saturday, Oct. 20 the Mackville Community Center and the Mackville Lions Club will be hosting a donkey basketball game. The doors open at 5:30 p.m. with a chili supper, hot dogs and homemade dessert will also be available for purchase. St. Dominic Open House
St. Dominic School is having a fall open house on Tuesday, Oct. 23. Prospective school families are invited to come and tour the school from 9-11 a.m. and 5:30-7:30 p.m.
Science Lab Open House
The community is invited to tour the new Alltech Science Lab at St. Dominic School from noon until 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 23. A second open house and dedication of the lab is set for 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 28.

Halloween in Mackville
The City of Mackville will host trick-or-treaters on Wednesday, Oct. 31 from 5-7 p.m. Participating residents will turn on their porch lights.

Rosary Heights Fall Banquet

River of Life Beast Feast

WC Clerk’s Office
The Washington County Clerk’s Office will be open Saturday, Nov. 3 from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. instead of Saturday, Nov 10. This will give absentee voters an extra day to cast their votes due to being out of town on election day.

Financial Aid Workshop
The Springfield campus of Elizabethtown Community and Technical College will host a financial aid workshop on Wednesday, Nov. 7 at 6:30 p.m. High-school seniors and adults returning to school are invited to attend this free workshop. An outreach counselor from the Kentucky Higher Education Assistance Authority (KHEAA) will explain the financial aid process, help attendees compare the costs of higher education institutions, and provide materials to assist students in applying for financial aid.
