Water Company


The Springfield Water and Sewer Commission will have their regular monthly meeting (today) Wednesday, Dec. 12 at the water office. The meeting will begin at 5 p.m.

Thursday, Dec. 13
Craft Lessons

The Washington County Library will be holding craft classes for tweens (9-14 years old) on Thursday, Dec. 13, from 3:30-5 p.m. and will be making a star tree. All must register at the front desk and classes are free. Call 336-7655 for more information.
 
Saturday, Dec. 15
Basketball Tournament

The first 3-on-3 Commander basketball tournament will be held Saturday, Dec. 15. Call Coach Russell Burkhead for details at 481-3308. Proceeds will benefitWCHS boys’ basketball.

Contemplative Prayer Day
St. Catharine Motherhouse is hosting its monthly Contemplative Prayer Day on Dec. 15 at 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The day will focus on Advent Taize Prayer, led by Myrna Page, and will include silence, reflection, chants,  advent readings with silent reflection and a closing tea meditation and blessing. Sunday, Dec. 16
Christmas Cantata

The Springfield Presbyterian Church presents its Christmas Cantata “We Are the Reason” on Sunday, Dec. 16 during the 11 a.m. worship service. The adult choir, children’s choir, guest musicians and congregation will all participate in this worship service of special music. The choir is directed by Higo Rodrigues. The church is located at 140 E. Main St., and the community is invited to come hear the Christmas story presented in song.

WCHS Parent/Teacher Night

Parent/Teacher Night will be held at Washington County High School on Monday, Dec. 17 from 5–6:30 p.m.


Wednesday, Dec. 19  
Parkinson’s Support Group

The Parkinson’s support group Christmas social will be lunch at BJ’s Steakhouse in Bardstown on Wednesday, Dec. 19 at 1 p.m.
BJ’s is at 201 Camptown Road, off of Bloomfield Road behind Kentucky Home Bank. Call Jane Swarts at 502-350-4458 with questions.

BHS Yearbook Signing

Bethlehem High School will hold the yearbook signing and pizza event for the class of 2012 on Thursday, Dec. 20, at 5:30 p.m. in the school’s library.

Monday, Dec. 24
Candlelight Service

The Springfield Presbyterian Church will hold its Christmas Eve candlelight service at 8 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 24.
This special and traditional candlelight service celebrates Jesus birth with scripture readings and singing carols.
Everyone is invited to join in our Christmas Eve service at the church located at 140 E. Main St.
