Relay for Life Fundraiser
Washington County Relay for Life announces it has teamed with Oil Pros, Inc., located at 21 Lincoln Ridge in Springfield, for a fundraiser in support of the American Cancer Society. Oil Pros will donate 5 percent of sales to Relay for Life during the month of May.
Volunteers are needed at the Lincoln Legacy Museum. If you have any free time, even a couple of hours would be greatly appreciated. Call Lena Russell at 859-336-3232.
Friday, May 30
WCHS graduation is scheduled for May 30, 7 p.m., in the High School gym.
Project graduation for WCHS seniors, juniors, and guest is also May 30. WCHS is accepting donations for Project Grad. If you would like to contribute, drop your donations off at the WC board office, WCHS or mail to PO Box 262 in Springfield.
A Civil War re-enactment and living history will be held at Lincoln Homestead State Park from Friday, May 30 through Sunday, June 1. For more information, call Lincoln Homestead at 336-7461.
Sunday, June 1
The every two-year reunion of the John and Georgia Newton family and the Thomas and Lula Greenwell family will be held Sunday, June 1, at the parish hall in Manton. All relatives are invited to attend. A potluck lunch mean will be served at 1 p.m.
Paint the Town Purple
Washington County Relay for Life is encouraging downtown businesses to help “Paint the Town Purple” during the week of June 1 – 7. Windows will be judged and a winner will be awarded a new traveling trophy to be announced at Relay for Life on June 7. Individuals can be a part of Paint the Town Purple by wearing purple on Friday, June 7.
The Redemption Point Church of God will be hosting a Pentecost Sunday weekend Revival on Friday night, June 6, Saturday night, June 7, and Sunday morning June 8. On Friday night June 6 at 7 p.m., Pastor Keith Creech from the Willisburg Church of God of Prophecy will be preaching. Saturday, June 7, at 7 p. m., Sis. Ara Perry will be ministering in song and word. Sunday, June 8, Sis. Lanita Eversole Wright from Winchester, will be ministering in song in the 11 a.m. service along with her husband, Bro. Rusty Wright.

Trent Family Reunion

KORT Springfield Physical Therapy is hosting sports physicals at Washington County Middle School. This is open to all Washington County student athletes Monday, June 9, 5:30 p.m.-7 p.m. Contact (859)336-9901 to schedule an appointment. The $10 fee will be donated to your teams booster club.
The next regularly scheduled visit of the American Red Cross Blood Mobile will be at the family activity center of the Springfield Baptist Church on Monday, June 9, from 12-5 p.m.
This visit will celebrate the one-year anniversary of the very successful blood drive that was held last year in memory and honor of Austin McBride who lost his life in a tragic accident. At that drive, our goal was well surpassed, which gave the gift of life to many others in Austin’s name. When donating, please specify that you would like your gift to be in memory of Austin McBride.

Golf camps and league
Junior golf camps will be offered at Lincoln Homestead Golf Course. A camp for ages 10-14 will be held from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. each day, with high school students and girls entering the eighth grade having a camp from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. All skill levels are welcome.
The junior golf league will begin on June 17 and will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. for ages 10-and-up. Call Bobby Bartholomai at 336-7461 for more information.
