No changes in city tax rates

-A A +A
By Jimmie Earls

On Aug. 9, Washington County voted to keep the same tax rates for real estate, personal property and motor vehicles. Last Tuesday, Springfield council members decided to do the same by having the first reading of two city ordinances during a meeting of the Springfield City Council. If approved, the tax rates for real estate and personal property within the city would remain at 13 cents per every $100 of assessed value and the tax rate for motor vehicles, watercraft and aircraft will remain at 14.8 cents for every $100 of assessed value.
