In the state representative race, Mike Harmon defeated Barry Harmon.
Julita Nance unseated Buffy Mann on the school board, also beating challenger Bud Blair.
In the Springfield city council race, Brooke Coulter, Lisa Haydon, Carolyn Hardin, Debbie Wakefield, John “Willie” Ellery and John R. Hardin won seats on the council. In an unofficial tally, Essex had 12 less votes than John R. Hardin.
In the Willisburg city commissioner race, Bruce Barr, John Kirsch, Ricky Settles and Rea G. Byrd were the victors. In an unofficial tally, Rea Byrd had one more vote than her husband, Myron. The couple tied at the polling place, but Rea had one more absentee vote than Myron.
