The Washington County School Board made what the group acknowledged was a tough decision at last Monday’s monthly meeting, but the district opted for practicality with a 3-1 decision to move forward with the destruction of old grade books dating back to 1900.
The information stored in the books, however, will be preserved thanks to a grant that will pay for each page to be scanned and archived. The grant also covers the cost of the destruction of the books, if the district elected to take advantage of that offer.
