The St. Catharine College varsity soccer teams traveled to play Cincinnati Christian last Tuesday. While the men came away with a 2-1 victory, the women fell 2-0.

After falling behind 1-0 on a Cincinnati free kick, the Patriots bounced back to take a halftime lead on two goals from Patrick Williams. Both team shad several scoring opportunities in the second period but neither team could find the net.

The win gave the Patriots a 5-3 record. They return to action Saturday at home with a game against conference rival Pikeville College.

The Patriot women battled Cincinnati Christian to a scoreless tie in the first half. But in the second half the home team scored twice after controversial fouls were called allowing them free kicks. They converted both of those chances into goals and held on for the 2-0 win.

The loss left the SCC women with a 4-3-1 record. They will play at home Saturday against Pikeville at 2 p.m. with the men’s game against Pikeville following at 4 p.m.
