St. Catharine College will hold a “Patriot Preview” open house starting at 9 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 22 for those interested in seeing what the school has to offer.
“This is the perfect opportunity for students to set foot on campus and experience St. Catharine first-hand,” said Paul Presta, SCC’s Director of Admissions. “We’ll walk you through the admissions process, tell you about opportunities for financial aid, grants and scholarships, and you’ll be guided around campus to meet fellow students, faculty and staff. Once they see the campus, how it has grown and see all of the possibilities that await them, they discover why SCC is one of the best kept secrets in Kentucky.”
Presta also said potential students can bring along their high school and college transcripts, and be evaluated on the spot.
“Most of the time, if they have their transcripts with them, they can leave that day knowing what they qualify for,” Presta added. “We also encourage parents and guardians to come along because they will see the value and high quality of education we provide for their children. The St. Catharine experience is for everybody.”
The open house begins at 9 a.m. with registration and sign-in in the lobby of the Richard S. Hamilton Health and Science Building. You’ll be greeted by SCC President William D. Huston, tour state-of-the-art campus facilities, gain first-hand knowledge from SCC student ambassadors and have lunch in the dining center in the Spalding Student and Community Center.
“They’ll get to see the classrooms, see the labs, the dorms, and walk away with a sense of campus life at SCC,” said Presta. “Once they see what’s going on, they’re sold. That’s one of the reasons we have our biggest freshman class ever this fall. People want to be a part of what’s going on here.”
St. Catharine was recently recognized by U.S. News and World report as one of the best regional colleges in the south, but that’s no surprise to current students or alumni.
