Couple had been on the run since July

A couple that had been on the run from law enforcement officials for more than four months has been captured in Springfield.

According to Detective Wes Gaddis with the DESI East drug enforcement unit, a Mercer County couple was arrested Thursday at the Springfield Inn in connection with methamphetamines. Gaddis said Waylon Brewer, 43, and LaCricia Brewer, 39, both of Salvisa in Mercer County, were arrested Thursday around 11 a.m. The couple had been on the run since early July when officials discovered a clandestine meth lab at their home. Authorities have been searching for them since, and found them after receiving an anonymous telephone tip, according to Gaddis.
In addition to allegedly manufacturing meth, Gaddis said the couple is also facing charges of trafficking in the drug.
Following their arrest, the couple was lodged in the Boyle County Detention Center.
