Dear Editor,

Thursday afternoon when I came out of the Wal-Mart in Bardstown, my car would not start.  A wonderful lady by the name of Lanette, who was parked front-to-front with me, offered her cell phone so that I could call home and AAA.

While I waited for AAA to arrive, Lanette went into the store and did her shopping.  When she returned she had a Pepsi for me.  Two other women and one man also stopped by and offered to help.

AAA arrived and got the car going.  I mentioned to Lanette that I needed to stop for gas.   She accompanied me to make sure all went well. Once more, the motor went dead. With the help of two men who jump- started the engine, I was finally on my way.

Then, was my Good Samaritan finished?  No, she insisted in trailing me home to St. Catharine Motherhouse, even accompanying me into the driveway to make sure that I arrived home safely.

Who says that there aren’t many good people around these days?  Lanette certainly is one of them, and I am most grateful for her unselfishness in giving me one hour of her time.
