Dear Editor,

I would like to introduce myself to the students, staff and parents of the Washington County Elementary School and the community at large. I am very excited to have been offered this opportunity to serve as principal of your school. I look forward to working with both the parents and staff to meet your child’s/students’ individual educational needs.

I reside in Taylorsville, Spencer County with my husband, Paul, of 14 years and two children, Audrey and Gavin, ages seven and four. My family and I enjoy outdoor recreational activities, such as boating, camping and fishing. My personal hobbies include reading, theatre and the arts.

I have worked in the field of education from the age of 19. I obtained a B.A. from Kentucky State University in Elementary Education and a M.A. from Georgetown College in Elementary Education/Reading. Most recently I obtained a M.A. in Instructional Leadership for administration. I have been employed with the Spencer County School District for the last 12 years.

Education is a passion for me, as is family and friends. I look forward to establishing new relationships in Washington County and am looking forward to meeting each of you at the open house on Aug. 2.
