In their first year as a member of the Mid-South Conference, St. Catharine College was not eligible for play in the conference post-season tournament. For that reason, athletic director Mike Doig chose to enter the athletic teams in the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) for the possibility of post-season play.

That affiliation has paid off in terms of an individual honor for one of the Patriot basketball players. Erin Rogers, a junior guard from Louisville, was named All-American last week by the USCAA, a national network of 80 small colleges and universities across the country.

“Erin is most deserving of this,” said SCC coach Lena Bramblett. “She got a lot of attention from opposing defenses but she came through for us nearly every game.”

Rogers led the team in scoring with a 16.4 average and led in three-point accuracy at 38 percent. From the foul line she made 82 percent for the season.

Whitney Jordan, a junior forward from Red Bowling Springs, Tennessee, named to the academic All-American team for the USCAA.
