The St. Catharine College men’s golf team finished fifth in a nine team field in the opening tournament of the fall. The two-day event was played Saturday and Sunday at the University Club in Lexington hosted by Transylvania.
Leading the Patriots was Simon Brown who had a 36 hole total of 150 (72-78). Scott Johnson had a 156 (82-74), Aaron Darby a 158 (82-76), Alex Carey a 160 (78-82), and Josh Edwards a 166 (86-80).
St. Catharine’s two-day total of 623 was 47 strokes behind Bellarmine University’s 567 first place score.
Both the men and women from St. Catharine will be in two tournaments in the upcoming week. Thursday they will play at the Centre College Fall Tournament and Danville Country Club. Monday and Tuesday they will play at the Mid-South Conference Fall Golf Tournament hosted by Lindsey Wilson College at Dale Hollow Golf Course.
